Allt jag aldrig ville veta om grislik och petting

Jag har alltid varit en person som rätt som det är behöver ha omedelbart svar på saker. Jag behöver förstå hur allt fungerar. Veta grejer. På en gång! Speciellt sån’t jag har funderat kring ett tag och som har förbryllat mig, men som jag helt plötsligt bara inte står ut med att inte veta längre…

När jag var i åttaårsåldern kom jag rätt som det var på att jag inte visste vad kött var gjort av (?!). Kött. Var kom det ifrån? Jag frågade min pappa, Den Allvetande. Fick ett äckligt svar. Riktigt äckligt. Jag vägrade så klart att äta alla former av kött som kotlett, pålägg och sidfläsk på flera veckor. Minst. Jag fiskade upp potatis, lök, morot och kålrot ur korvgrytan men duckade för korven. Grislik!! 😱 Fattar du?! Skitäckligt.

Vid ett annat tillfälle när jag var snäppet äldre hade jag hört ett ord som jag inte riktigt förstod. Jag visste helt säkert att det hade med sport i någon form att göra, och min pappa tittade ofta på sport på TV. Speciellt skidor och boxning. Och simhopp! Det tidiga glada 80-talet bjöd ju inte oss kids på nå’n cool, elektronisk informationsteknologi när vi skulle ta reda på saker – förutom på bibblan där det fanns mikrofilmade dagstidningsartiklar! Där kunde vi alltså i värsta agentstil insupa asgamla nyheter. 😎 Men hemma då? På sin höjd stod en liten rad Bra Böckers Lexikon och den tunga tyginbundna Svenska Akademins Ordlista (SAOL) i mahognybokhyllan i våra svenska folkhem med mossgrön täckmatta i vardagsrummet. Fast skulle jag hitta nåt om petting i den där ordlistan? Tveksamt. Ordet smakade liksom…modernt. Enklast var ju problemlösningsmetoden Fråga pappa! Sagt och gjort. Min jättebästis Andy satt bredvid mig och min pappa i hörnsoffan av brunaste plysch och glodde på TV den här helgen. Jag tyckte att det var väldigt passande att fråga just då, eftersom jag var bombsäker på att min pappa skulle veta svaret. Jag var därmed stolt och lite mallig i förväg att ha en så lärd far.
– ”Pappa.”
– ”Mmmm…?”
– ”Vad är petting?”
Tystnad. Och ännu mer tystnad. Här borde jag förstått att nå’t obekvämt var på gång. Men det gjorde jag ju så klart inte. –
”Jaa du…” svarade min pappa och tog liksom sats innan han fortsatte med myndig röst. ”Det är när vuxna människor pussas och kramas och smeker varann och…”
…och ungefär där dog jag! Paniken som uppstod, alltså. 😮😱 Jag skyndade mig ut på toa utan att titta en sekund på vare sig Andy eller pappa, för att sitta där och skämmas ögonen ur mig i min ensamhet i tio minuter minst, fast det kändes som en timme. Världens längstaste timme! Varför varför varför frågade jag!? Och framför Andy! Alltså. Var är livets rewind-knapp när man behöver den?

Tänk vad en kunde lära sig av att fråga andra, framför allt de äldre, de visare, de erfarna… Tänk så mycket info en kunde hitta i de där dammiga gamla uppslagsverken. Och tänk vad glad jag är att det finns Google nu för tiden, så jag slipper skämma ut mig i sökandet efter elementär och livsviktig baskunskap som vad petting och fläskkorv är! 🙈😂

Den där skamkänslan väcks till liv 30 år senare bara jag tänker på det. För tänk, bara tänk, om nån kunde se ens Google-sökningar…! Då hade en rewind-knapp fortfarande varit önskvärd i detta nutida svenska folkhemmet, det ska jag be att få tala om. 😬
