Förmiddagen bjöd på ännu ett tandläkarbesök. Det är tur att jag generellt sett gillar att gå till tandläkaren, och ännu mer tur att sprutor inte bekommer mig, för det vankas en enorm portion av båda en bra tid framöver. Framför allt är det tur att min kära vän Sofie jobbar där för då måste jag ju uppföra mig ordentligt och inte skämma ut mig! Hittills har jag lyckats riktigt bra, förutom när jag ljög och sa att det gick jättebra att dricka efter bedövning och efterföljande ingrepp när jag istället lyckades sagla ner mig själv, stolen och golvet för att underläppen hängde som efter en mindre stroke. Varför ska man vara så typiskt svensk alltid!?
Idag var det ovanligt jobbigt att gå till tandläkaren. Har nämligen besvärats av en o-tand (dvs såret efter en bortopererad tand) ett tag nu. Det värker så där irriterande när jag äter, sväljer, vilar. Och så kan man ju inte ha det, allra minst när smärtan från min spökande tand är ett minne blott efter en halv rotfyllning och ett förband. Till min nackdel mådde jag riktigt illa i morse. RIKTIGT illa. Så där så att man hela tiden kikar sig omkring efter det minst olämpliga stället att placera sitt maginnehåll på. Jag tror att det är alla tabletter jag proppar i mig, eller så är det helt enkelt bristen på vin som gör sig påmind. Jag är osäker.
Jag dog hur som helst lite invärtes när jag låg där, bakåtlutad och med obligatorisk haklapp på, i den galonklädda tandläkarstolen och fick veta att det där hårda jag känt i ett av de nio såren efter mina utslagna tänder inte alls var operationstråd som jag i min enfald trott. Det fanns nåt annat där. Benbitar. (Va? Vad då? Benbitar?!) Och inte en utan två flisor som stack ut lite grann. Jaha, inte konstigt att det gjort ont där! Hu.
Ännu mer hu var att få ut dem. Inte på grund av smärta, för efter tre laddningar från den massiva, kalla tandläkarsprutan så kändes det inte något. Nej, det sökte mig psykiskt helt enkelt, att det sitter benbitar fast i MIN mun, i ett äckligt sår som inte riktigt vill läka. Klart man inte vill ha benbitar där! Fast samtidigt var tanken på att dra ut dem dock allt annat än lockande.
För att referera till min egen klokhet så var det väldigt bra att jag låg där och kallsvettades och våndades under tiden tandläkaren skickligt tångade ut benflisorna, allt medan jag i tysthet upprepade mantrat att ”allt snart blir bra, allt snart blir bra, allt snart blir bra”. Det var skönt att sätta sig upp, benflisefri, och låta spänningen och ångesten skaka ut i händerna för att slutligen ebba ut i hissen där jag snyftade och fällde en tår eller två mot en varm och tröstande axel. Det var gött att blåsa faran över och triumferande åka hem, om än lätt illamående, i en skumpig bil med halvkassa stötdämpare.
Jag refererade till min egen klokhet, ja. Med det menade jag att det är bra att man inte vet vad som komma skall. För ungefär trettiotvå minuter efter att jag gav en lättnadens suck där uppe hos tandis, valde Monstersmärtorna från Helvetet att komma på besök, helt oinbjudna, och de hade en hel jävla armé med sig.
