Ett år har gått sedan livet förändrades på en mikrosekund…
Jag tänker i stort sett varje dag på hur lyckligt lottad jag faktiskt är som lever, fungerar och existerar. Det kunde gått åt helvete, men jag kom undan med blotta förskräckelsen och lokala skador som läker.
Fel som går att åtgärda rätt tillfredsställande.
Jag kommer alltid att ha ärr inuti och utanpå men jag lever.
Jag kommer aldrig att få tillbaka mina tänder men jag får nya.
Jag kommer kanske att få leva med huvudvärk och medicin men jag accepterar det.
Jag betraktar mig ändå som lyckligt lottad trots käkfrakturer, titanplattor, operationer, ett oändligt antal sprutor, skruvar, ärr och fejktänder.
Och eventuellt epilepsi – skit också!
Men alternativet hade varit värre.
Att skada hjärnan vore sämre.
Det slapp jag.

Och tacka vet jag svensk sjukvård! Vilken trygghet. Jag betalar mer än gärna högre skatt för att vi alla ska kunna få vård utan nödvändig försäkring, som i USA och andra länder. Vårt system är svårslaget för oss vårdtagare, även om arbetsvillkoren för personalen på USiL antagligen inte är de bästa just nu.
Om jag får ha en önskan eller tre (och det får jag ju så klart! 😃) så tänker jag:
1. Snälla du. Häng inte grejer på styret. EVER.
2. Skynda och stressa aldrig iväg någonstans. Någonsin. Bättre att komma sent än att inte komma fram överhuvudtaget.
3. Använd cykelhjälm.

Tiden just precis nu för ett år sedan var det värsta jag varit med om, förutom cancer och död. Tiden efter olyckan var smärtfylld på flera plan. Jag trodde starkt och innerligt att jag skulle vara fullt återställd till jul förra året! Oj, vad fel jag hade. Nu, ett år efteråt, har jag faktiskt färre tänder än jag hade efter operationen efter olyckan då man avlägsnade en tapper skara. Tankens makt höll mig stark i sinnet – och så får det förbli.
Så tack för detta år som lärt mig ett och annat, bland annat att livet är bra flyktigt, att försäkringar är bra att ha, att typ all smärta är uthärdlig (i alla fall med rätt mängd morfin), att det visst går att överleva en hel höst på mannagrynsvälling med kanel, och att humor, rätt inställning och positivt tänkande är helt avgörande för tillfrisknandet… ❤️
