b) hur länge du/ni ska vara borta
c) vad du/ni vill ha ut av semestern.
Är det en sol/bad-semester eller storstads/shoppingsemester? Skidsemester? Weekendresa eller långsemester? Finns det minimikrav? Är det värt att spara in 1000 kr totalt men bo flera kilometer från stranden? Eller är det absolut nödvändigt med havsutsikt? Glöm inte bort att det även finns jättefina hus att hyra, även om ni inte är så många som reser. Det är en annan komfort, lite som home away from home, men å andra sidan ingår kanske inte städning.

Det finns ett stort utbud av boende att välja bland. Klassiska hotellrum, all inclusive-anläggningar, B&B (bed and breakfast), lägenheter (som kan vara del av en hotellverksamhet eller privatägd), stugor, hus – och husbåtar!

När du kommit så långt att du valt ut ett boende som verkar passa dina preferenser och din plånbok: glöm för allt i världen inte att kolla rekommendationerna! Det kan se tjusigt ut på bilder men i själva verket kanske verkligheten är en annan. Jag har själv gjort den missen, innan jag hittade toppensidan Tripadvisor! <3
Tripadvisor är en fantastiskt användbar sida där vanliga människor recenserar och sätter betyg på t ex hotell (men även restauranger mm, se nästa inlägg!).
Ratingen ger ofta dig en bra vägvisare. Även de bästa hotellen får sina kängor, så låt dig inte sänkas av ett och annat lågt betyg utan titta på helheten.

Dubbelkolla direkt med boendet
När jag jämfört de olika sajterna ovan och (åtminstone tillfälligt) valt mitt boende så brukar jag alltid dubbelkolla direkt med hotellet/uthyraren om jag verkligen hittat billigast pris. Det tar väldigt lite tid i anspråk: bara gå in på boendets hemsida och jämför samma resekonstellation (antal personer, bäddar, datum). Ex. du får billigare pris på Park Inn by Radissons egna sida än de stora söksidorna vid vissa datum!
Ibland behöver du vara medlem och vara inloggad för att få riktigt bra priser (se nedan).

Det finns ofta rabattkoder att hitta som sänker priset ytterligare. Enklast är att googla med boendet & stället (staden, landet) + ”promo code” eller ”rabattkod” (etc) som sökord.
