Flagnande rött nagellack och spruckna hälar nedtryckta i dystra höstskor skvallrar sorgset om att sommaren nästan nått sitt slut. Ett bleknande ansikte möter mig i badrumsspegeln när jag borstar tänderna, vilka för övrigt lyser med sin frånvaro. Fast jag vägrar notoriskt att ge efter. Här plockas inga skinnjackor fram. Inga strumpor träs på fot och inga jeans i passande storlek skall införskaffas innan dagstemperaturen sjunker under femton grader. Tills dess behåller jag mitt krampaktiga tag om sommaren och dess värme fastän solstrålarna tunnas ut och blir svagare för var dag som passerar. Envist målar jag på mer av det blodröda nagellacket som sakta torkar, fastän jag vet att det är lönlöst. Hösten kommer ändå med stormsteg och jag blir lika överraskad varje år, kanske för att min sannolika höstaversion verkar manifestera sig i förnekelse?
På Esplanaden idag mötte jag en dam på cykel. Ingen hjälm hade hon förstås, vilket stör mig lite nu när jag insett vilken skada lite asfalt kan åsamka ett bart huvud. Hur som helst; den här specifika damen hade – sol och moderat värme till trots – rotat fram sin vadderade vinterjacka och matchat fint med kängor av rejäl kvalisort.
Våra blickar möttes.
Som skön kontrast kan tilläggas att jag kom gåendes enbart iförd en tunn klänning och knallröda sandaletter.
