Nu skulle jag vilja skryta om att vi redan gjort julkola, hemgjord kexchoklad, ischoklad och knäck. Griljerat skinkan. Tillsammans. Som en glad och nästan perfekt liten familj, alltmedan vacker musik skvalar ut ur våra överdimensionerade högtalare.
Familjen Qvick har tänkt ut och handlat födelsedagspresenter, alla julklappar – och som vanligt alldeles för mycket mat. Granen står så grön och grann i stugan och snart är hela huset städat också. Vi vaknade utvilade i renbäddade sängar med fräsch doft av Yankee Candle Clean Cotton. Typ.
Och inte en enda av oss känner julstress eller panik utan vi bara finns och myser.
Ihop.
Då kan man undra en sak: Hur kommer det sig att det är första året vi hunnit med allt INNAN jul? Hunnit med våra liv! Första året jag inte har en klump i magen över att behöva jobba på julafton, i mellandagarna, på nyår? Första året utan den krypande känslan av stress-Stress-STRESS som bubblar och fräser i ådrorna under tiden jag – fortfarande oduschad och med nerverna utanpå kroppen – vrålar loss på familjen inför den påtagliga tidspressen, där jag står med en kolakletig köksslev i handen och ett diskberg som majestätisk tron i mitt magnifika kökskaos. Tio minuter innan vi ska köra bort på julmiddag. Och jag har glömt köpa tre paket.
Varför upplever jag inte detta, för första gången i mitt vuxna liv?

För att det här är första året jag är sjukskriven.
För att det är första året jag hunnit planera.
Trots att jag julpyntat i lugn och ro har jag hunnit gå långa rundor med hunden och prata om livet med tonårsdottern under tiden jag läkt ihop såväl själsligt som fysiskt. Jag har spelat Wii med sonen (Gud vet att jag hatar det), jag har varit på judoträningar, otaliga läkarbesök och jag har tänkt kring min framtid samt klippt hundens klor, helt ostressad. OCH alltså hunnit med alla julbestyr. Fortfarande helt utan inre panik.
Och så frågar folk om jag inte är rastlös? Om jag inte vill börja jobba igen?
Jobba: jo.
Rastlös: nej!
Jag vill så klart bli frisk och smärtfri men jag vill INTE ha tillbaka mitt gamla liv med sekundjakt och hjärtklappning.

Samhället är uppbyggt på ett sätt som ger finfin grogrund för utbrändhet och en växande känsla av misslyckande hos individen. För hur ska man verkligen hinna med allt i vardagen? Jobbet, familjen, konsumtionen, huset, högtiderna, pressen, semesterresorna, städningen, matlagningen, kvalitetstiden med barnen, tidspressen, läxläsningen, utvecklingstrycket, veterinärbesöken och tandläkartiderna. Att äga det senaste och att väga lagom lite.

Hur kan man ens tänka sig att ha en hobby när man har fullt upp med att leva?
Man kan ju undra vart den moderna människan är på väg. Motorvägen mot en förtidig död alltmedan livet susar förbi i 190. Jag undrar dessutom varför det skulle kosta mig tio tänder och en hel höst av läkning för att fatta att så där kan man ju inte leva. Det var en dyr lärdom!
Du som läser det här kanske är en sån där sval, avvägd och superstrukturerad person som lyckas få livsbalans utan sjukskrivning. Du kanske är kick ass-bra på att delegera och säga nej. Du tar inte på dig för mycket och avslutar alltid dina projekt och uppdrag innan deadline. Du gör säkert bra avvägningar mellan att jobba mindre när barnen är små och jobba röven av dig precis när det är lämpligt. Du lyckas planera ditt liv och passa tider: aldrig sen, alltid alert. Min raka motsats, alltså. Du kanske till och med kan få din lön att stanna kvar som en trogen, nitiskt väldresserad hund medan min lön däremot fladdrar iväg som en trasig plastpåse i vinden, på väg mot egna mål samtidigt som den lämnar ett sorgligt spår efter sig på kontot redan runt den tredje. (Det är förresten ett magiskt fenomen, det där! Vart tar pengarna vägen egentligen?)
