"All These Great Vacations to Foreign Places…"

Jag får ofta frågan hur vi lyckas resa så ofta i vår familj. Vi är nämligen inte oskäligt rika (alls), vi har inga feta löner (alls!) och vi har definitivt inte oändligt med semesterdagar heller. Förutom den lilla detaljen att vi är världssämst på att spara, så är jag sannolikt också världsbäst på att nosa upp budgetresor. Och det där med sinande semesterdagar som hinder går också att reglera till viss del.
Vi reser i olika konstellationer. Ibland hela familjen, dvs jag, Mattias och ungdomarna, som hunnit bli 13 och snart 18. Inga direkta barnpriser där, inte. Ibland tar vi med oss mormor också. Och emellanåt åker vi bara vi vuxna. ”Varannan vuxen” är mitt resemotto, av rent par-egoistiska skäl förstås. 🙂 Åker vi bara vuxna så reser vi gärna med favoriterna Linda & Larzon, min svägerska & hennes käre make. <3 Och kanske möter vi upp andra godingar som min Storkusin Camilla & hennes man Martin, om vi har tur!
Men vad är grejen då, med att hitta en resa?
Generellt sett kan du göra på två vis:
A) Köp en färdig paketresa med de vanligaste charterbolagen
+ Smidigt, enkelt och tryggt
– Oftast mycket dyrare, om du inte fyndar sista minuten-pris
B) Skräddarsy din egen resa
+ Oftast betydligt billigare, mer personligt och friare vad gäller resedatum, destination & val av boende, etc
– Kan kanske kännas otryggt om du inte är van resenär
Låt mig ta ett exempel, för att illustrera skillnaden:
Vi reste 2 vuxna och 2 barn (då 11 & 15 år) till Jamaica i 2 veckor över julafton 2015
Flyg: Direktflyg (TUI) Köpenhamn, Danmark – Montego Bay; Jamaica
Boende: 14 nätter på 3* hotell (Coral Seas Beach Resort, Negril) i stort dubbelrum med två dubbelsängar
Alt A) En paketresa med Fritidsresor till ovan nämnda ställe hade kostat oss 42.000:-
Alt B) Jag bokade flyg och boende var för sig ca 3 veckor innan avresa och betalade totalt under 25.000:- (Flyg: 2.999:-/person Hotell:  12.000:-, exakt samma resa som ovan)


Inte helt tokigt, va? 😀
Som jämförelse kan jag nämna att det var dyrare att åka till Gran Canaria under samma tidsperiod, oavsett om vi hade tagit paketcharter (alt A) eller bokat själva (alt B).
