Jämlikt? Jämställt? Jorå.

I morse började jag fundera på en sak. Det här med jämställdhet och strävan efter balans mellan könen i vårt binära samhälle. Det är faktiskt en svår sak! För att förändra världen behöver en börja med sig själv, heter det ju… Det är svårast av allt.

Extra tydligt blev det när jag insåg att jag köpt en sexistisk mugg till gubben. Dessutom tycker jag att den är kul, Gud förbjude!
(Bortse från fläckarna. Det händer att jag diskar men det är gubbens syssla och ansvar. Och uppenbarligen har han inte skött sig. 😑)

Skämt åsido.
Jag började jag tänka på vad som skulle hänt om exakt samma kopp hade haft texten En lydig kvinna är en lycklig kvinna plus en (o)passande bild. Ramaskri.
Men män är okej att håna, tydligen?
Ja, uppenbarligen tycker jag det eftersom jag köpt muggfan. 😏
Lite samma fenomen är det med Chippendales – om de ens existerar längre? – kontra kvinnliga strippor. Det ena är mums och det andra är motbjudande förtryck. Varför? Är det stället, upplägget, showen eller vad? 

Missförstå mig rätt.
1. Jag är för jämställdhet och jämlikhet. 
2. Jag titulerar mig som feminist.
3. Jag ser absolut problemet med samhällets könsmaktordning där kvinnor varit – och på många nivåer fortfarande är – i underläge sedan urminnes tider.
Jag förstår bara inte varför jämlikhetskampen jämt verkar tippa över åt endera hållet. Självklart ska vi verka för lika löner, lika möjligheter etc, men kanske inte på bekostnad av andra. Ordvalet ”feminist” tänker jag är ett lysande exempel på vad jag menar.

Jag har kommit på att jag är EQUALIST.
Antagligen har jag hört ordet någonstans, och om inte så har jag härmed myntat ett begrepp som inte väger över mer för nåt kön – eller ens för binära könsuppdelningar.
Equalist med basen i engelskans ”equal”, sprunget ur latinets ”aequalis”; alltså lika.
Equalister ser människor, inte kön.
Alla människors lika värde är grunden.
Och det i sig borde vara grunden för alla, tycker jag.

Som avslutning kan jag för jämställdhetens skull berätta att jag snabbt fick svar på tal kring min stygga mugg. Denna skönhet väntade på mig några dagar efter…

    “Photographers get to tell a story through images,” Karingattil says. “Macro photography allows me to see life and the world around me in a brand-new way.”

    Despite its hot climate and harsh desert, the UAE is home to over 1,000 plant and animal species. The waters around the country are home to the largest concentration of Indian Ocean humpbacks dolphin in the world, and the second-largest population of dugongs, after Australia.

    With the UAE’s president recently extending the country’s “Year of Sustainability” into 2024, Karingattil uses wildlife photography as a method of capturing the country’s biodiversity and sharing it with others.

    While interior design is his full-time job, “herping” is his passion. “Herping is the act of observing, studying, and photographing reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats,” says Karingattil. “It is a popular hobby among nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers who are fascinated by the diversity and beauty of these creatures.”

    Set to become the world’s second-tallest clock tower (after the Makkah Clock Royal Tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia), Aeternitas Tower is the result of a partnership between Dubai-based real estate developer London Gate and Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Franck Muller.

    London Gate purchased the plot of land in Dubai Marina, which already had the beginnings of an unfinished 106-story structure — and knew that the tower’s monumental size needed a striking facade, said Tom Hill, media relations coordinator for the developer.

    “We believe the clock will be seen from six kilometers away because of the sheer height of the building,” said Hill, adding that the clock face will be an enormous 40 meters (131 feet) tall and 30 meters (98 feet) wide.

    “We wanted to do something different that hasn’t been done before in Dubai,” said Hill.
